A Haiku and Feature

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 16, 2012, 4:37 PM
I've got a haiku for ya.

you know what? men suck, that's what,
and the moment you
think they don't, they surprise you.

Almost wrote that in a deviation, but I thought it wasn't necessarily deviation-worthy.  Just a little blurp.

Anyhow, how's everyone ELSE doing?  Funky dory, correct?  Awesome.

Here's a feature for you just for the heck of it....and since I love ya.

Like always.

i don't think
i shall need

from now on.
go home, sweet boy,
don't sleep over.
i can cook for me.

Non-material Symmetry by MarySdfghjkli want to see another world by chriseastmids rememberingRemembering
i.
I rarely remember the bridge and that lonely evening, where the season was changing its colors, and I stood, like the children stood on snowy days, looking out the window, at those two flocks of geese soaring past the city bridge. I rarely remember the section of the bridge that are your big eyes and straight nose, a smiling mouth with two dimples, the dimples of the boys that are very sweet.
Easily as the boats sway from dock to dock, the water covers the time of our life and the fisherman's oars dissolve our moments. Under our aimless boat is another world, a world split when we made that decision under the liquidating sun. I keep my eyes closed because I want to break like a fever, the way the soft river makes way for everything.
In the transience of the seasonal changes, we have all lost someone.

I told you to forget me, forget the way our movements merged with the twisted arch of a soaring forest, forget the crimson explosions on the print of the breakfast table

memories this way:
he was a
cigarette-puffing,
wood-chopping,
banca-riding,
harmonica-playing,
transistor-listening,

he lit firecrackers
with his mouth
through cigars.
he would pick
meat anytime
over fish,
over veggies.
he liked pomade,
he liked hair gel more.
he'd be happy to know
everything's high-tech now:
he would have marveled
at cellphones,
LCD TVs, i-pods,
laptops and
digicams.
he and i knew enough of deprivation:
it stared us both in the face,
it was the background of our life.
his generosity in my childhood
eased mine.
do i make more of him
in this poem?

a decent poem

To feel good about myself
When others are not present
Am I much different?
No.
It's not my fault you don't agree
You've got this notion of me
That simply isn't true
There are only
so many times I can
fake a smile and laugh
My cache is running low
So please
Hold your tongue
when it really matters
Keep your visits and your phone calls
I don't want to hear your voice
I want to remember when I was young
And you were perfect
When I was innocent and hopeful
And you were always just...there
Disillusionment seems to always lead to isolationism
It's just so much easier

Love the haiku - so true sometimes! It reflects the way you can almost get whiplash over some of the back-and-forth behavior they have.

Thanks also for including my butterfly bracelet in your fabulous feature!

:) Thanks. Yes, men behavior oddly for sure. I think women can be pretty back-and-forth sometimes too. But a man can be so vague it's ridiculous!

I love your butterfly bracelet. I want one!

Well, I made the green one for $60 and the gold one would go for $90, simply because the beads for that one contain real gold and palladium in the glazes and are more expensive. If you're interested, please note me. We can make something with different colors, too.

Wow! That's crazy impressive!

I don't think I could afford it, but Oooo I would love one. :D Maybe I could drop not so subtle hints to my hubby about a Christmas gift or something. :giggle: (It would have to be more on the blunt side because he'd have to contact you through my dA account.:giggle:)
