My young sister saw this, and said, "That's a really cool picture" so clearly this picture has the stuff that attracts people to it.

What I first saw when I looked at this picture was the contrast of colours. There was the vibrant yellows at the bottom of the picture, then the dark skies and mountains. Then there's the middle ground in the center of the picture that has a great combination of the yellow and the darker tones. If the photographer hadn't taken a picture with the grass/wheat whatever in it, I think the picture would not have been as striking as it is.

The power lines are the next thing I noticed when deciding to critique this piece. Sometimes power lines can add character to the picture, sometimes they can't. Personally I find some of the powerlines distracting. For example the ones crossing the mountains are extremely distracting. However, I absolutely love the powerlines that are lower down in the picture. They add character to this piece, and make it more apparent how stark this land scape is.

The mountains are absolutely lovely in my opinion. I love how you can see that there's still some snow up in the mountains. I like how they roll gently, so perhaps they are more hills then mountains.

Then I love that lonely little house/building. It makes this piece come together and it keeps your eye from being bored on just plane landscape. (Love how the vehicle is mostly hidden by the grass)

Overall this is a really great photo. It definitely captured my attention.
