I'm feeling dated. Maybe That's because it's been a while since I was on here. But hey I'm here today.

I caught up on a bunch of beautiful deviations and thought I'd pay tribute to some of them here.

Now that you've got some great stuff to browse through, if you care to hang around I'll tell you a little about what I've been up to.
I think to keep a long story short, we'll go list style.
*My oldest son has been diagnosed (this year) with autism spectrum disorder, adhd, and has symptoms of anxiety, depression, and ocd. He's in second grade. It's been a wild ride.
*I now also have a kindergartener. He's a sweetpie.
*My now 4 year old has been participating in a joy school with my fellow neighborhood 3-4 year olds. I also taught this joy school every few weeks.
*Son number four has joined the family as of late January. He is SO SWEET!
*Yes I have no other girls in my household, excepting the cat. I'm pretty outnumbered.
*I write for the small local paper
*I've been teaching piano to kids
*I started managing a roofer's business for a while, took a break, and now am at that again, mainly just phone services from my home
*I started walking evenings with a couple of my favorite neighborhood ladies now. Yeah...I'm one of THOSE people...
*I'm in love with Norwex and doTerra. (Believe me, they are both worth looking into! But I keep shocking myself with my own chemical paranoia and all-natural kicks lately. I'm becoming a crazy person!)

Amongst obgyn, psychologist evaluations, psychiatrist appointments, pediatricians office visits, writing for the local journal, school meetings and evaluations, teaching piano, teaching and helping with six 3-yr-olds, caring for a new baby, a high-functioning autistic son and two others, and keeping up with the daily house maintenance and what not, you think I might be busy much. Heck yes! So I'm sure that explains a little about why I'm not here all the time like I used to be. But I do miss your faces.

Is there a way to purchase a book of my own literature from dA? I like how we can purchase prints of the art, but I wish there was a way to purchase my writing somehow.

Just a thought...



Anyway, it's been FOREVER since I've been active on dA so here's a little catch up on what's been going on with me and keeping me off dA.

*I got a job answering phones from home for a roofer. It disrupts and interrupts me all day long and I'm taken from my world into this other place where I don't necessarily want to be, but hey it's extra money.
*I also have been teaching piano and am going to have a recital themed around Halloween.
*I'm still managing that little non-profit local biweekly newspaper and writing articles for it here and there.
*I'm trying my best not to lose my mind as a mom of a 3-year-old boy, 5-year-old boy in kindergarten, and 7-year-old boy in 2nd grade who recently was diagnosed with OCD, Anxiety, Depression, and Autism Spectrum Disorder, which has given me a run for my money.
*I'm expecting baby number 4. Another boy. Feeling pretty good, just tired all the time.
*And...I'm sure I'm forgetting something because I always am!



So no, haven't had much time for dA of late, let alone writing or even reading that much lately.

If anyone even bothers to read this, thanks. You're a trooper while I haven't been active. What has everyone else been up to?

they hold the spaces
that make silence enough
for the words to speak;
and when the words are done
they hold the spaces

that leaves room for so much more

I could never understand.
The first time I set foot inside of your house
I was drawn to it, analyzing it
like some technicolor rorschach test.
Your eyes are lit
by the blinding glow of the flash,
but your lips
are holding the most honest smile
I've ever seen upon them.
Your hair is dark,
a wavy blur against the background,
dripping down against his face,
against your arm
draped across his shoulders.
As I look back
and reflect on that photograph
I find some details
are beginning to slip away...
Were you wearing a leather jacket,
or was it simply black
and was he smiling
or just looking toward the camera
expressionless?
Everything fades eventually,
and memories are more fragile
than our dreams,
but mine is omitting pieces on purpose.
I knew
when I looked into your developed eyes
that I would never fit
inside the borders of that scene,
that you
would never smile like that for me.
There is no time
where we could be caug all this and more.I'd make a list
of all the things I'd learned this year,
all the things I'd lived through underneath
tepid sunshine and dirty bedsheets,
all the love songs I'd learned the lyrics to
twenty times over, but
lists can't tell the world
where hands have held you
and how they've moved you,
lists can't tell anyone
the places you've been
bruised and broken by
your own anger,
lists can't ever say
when the magic filled the
moments in between,
and when it went away -
and I was never one for counting out heartaches anyway.
